What is the VOA / E‑VOA

A Visa on Arrival (VOA) is a short‑term tourist/business visa issued at entry points in Indonesia, valid for 30 days, and extendable once for another 30 days (maximum stay 60 days) .

Tourist visa

The C1 (Visa Kunjungan Kategori C‑1) is a single‑entry tourist visa for non-VoA eligible visitors. It allows an initial stay of up to 60 days, with the option to extend up to 180 days total (two extensions). It can also be converted to a temporary stay permit (KITAS) under a local sponsor.

The C2 Business Visa is issued to foreign nationals visiting Indonesia for business activities without employment or income in the country. It is suitable for attending meetings, seminars, exhibitions, contract negotiations, or market surveys. The visa is valid for 60 days and can be extended up to a total of 180 days. Applicants must provide a passport valid for at least six months, an invitation letter from an Indonesian company, proof of financial means, and an outbound ticket. Applications can be submitted online via e-Visa or through a local sponsor in Indonesia.

The C5 Journalist Visa is issued to foreign nationals visiting Indonesia for professional media work such as news coverage, filmmaking, or documentaries. Applicants must obtain approval from the Directorate of Information and Media under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before applying. The visa is valid for 60 days and can be extended as needed. Requirements include a passport valid for at least six months, an assignment letter from a media or production company, and a detailed coverage plan.

The C6 Social-Cultural Visa is granted to foreign nationals visiting Indonesia for social, cultural, or family purposes. It is suitable for those visiting relatives, participating in cultural activities, attending exchange programs, or conducting non-commercial research. The visa is valid for 60 days and can be extended up to a total of 180 days. Applicants must provide a passport valid for at least six months, an invitation or sponsorship letter from an Indonesian citizen or institution, and proof of sufficient financial means.

The C9 Short Course Visa is issued to foreign nationals attending non-formal training, short courses, or workshops in Indonesia without earning income. It is ideal for participants of short-term educational programs such as language, arts, cultural, or professional training. The visa is valid for 60 days and can be extended up to a total of 180 days. Requirements include a passport valid for at least six months, an acceptance letter from an Indonesian educational institution, and proof of sufficient financial means.

The C10 Religious Preacher Visa is granted to foreign nationals visiting Indonesia for religious activities such as preaching, spiritual seminars, faith-based social services, or collaboration with local religious institutions. The visa is valid for 60 days and can be extended up to a total of 180 days. Applicants must provide a passport valid for at least six months, an invitation or recommendation letter from a recognized religious organization in Indonesia, and proof of sufficient financial means.

The C11 Exhibitor Visa is granted to foreign nationals visiting Indonesia to participate in exhibitions, expos, or trade promotion events. It is intended for individuals or company representatives showcasing products, services, or technologies at official national or international events in Indonesia. The visa is valid for 60 days and can be extended up to a total of 180 days. Requirements include a passport valid for at least six months, an invitation letter from the event organizer, and proof of sufficient financial means.

The C14 Filming Visa is issued to foreign nationals entering Indonesia for professional film, documentary, or visual content production. Applicants must obtain prior authorization from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies, such as the Indonesian Film Board or the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, before applying. This visa is valid for 60 days and cannot be extended. Requirements include a passport valid for at least six months, a filming permit, a detailed production plan, and proof of sufficient financial means.

D1 Visa: This is the specific visa classification issued by Indonesian immigration for short-term visitors. Single-entry. You can only enter Indonesia once using this visa. If you leave the country, the visa becomes invalid and cannot be reused, even if the validity period has not expired. Also this visa can be able for visit visa and tourism purposes.

Pre-Investment Visa

The D12 Pre-Investment Visa is a multiple-entry visit visa for business-related activities like market research, site visits, and meetings. It does not allow employment, income generation, or operational work in Indonesia.

Remote Work visa (1 Year)

The E33G visa is a remote worker visa (also known as the Indonesian digital nomad visa) introduced by Indonesia to attract international remote workers and digital nomads. It allows foreigners to live in Indonesia while working remotely for an overseas employer or clients, without engaging in the local labor market.
